**CRYPTO NEWS**

Markets had a volatile, risk-off week as oil, Treasury yields and the dollar remained elevated. Bitcoin fell from around 87K toward $80K before recovering above $84K, showing resilience despite heavy ETF outflows, a major leverage flush and tighter global financial conditions.

**1. Crypto Markets & Liquidations**
BTC fell toward $80K before recovering above $84K, while ETH dropped toward $2.5K. The sell-off wiped out around $1.19B in leveraged positions in 24 hours, including more than $1B of longs. ETH accounted for roughly $356M of liquidations versus $298M for BTC.

**2. Crypto ETF Flows**
Bitcoin ETFs recorded around $679M of net outflows from Oct. 5–9, while ETH ETFs lost roughly $542M. XRP ETFs bucked the trend, attracting about $8M on Oct. 8, with cumulative XRP ETF inflows reaching roughly $1.81B versus $1.59B for SOL funds.

**3. Crypto Adoption & Institutional Infrastructure**
Crypto adoption continued despite weak prices. Samsung partnered with Solana and Sui to expand USDC-based payment access across roughly 82M smartphones. The Solana Foundation also unveiled infrastructure aimed at settling institutional trades within seconds, developed with input from JPMorgan.

**4. Crypto Regulation & Tokenized Stocks**
The CFTC proposed a federal framework for leveraged and margined crypto trading, including anti-manipulation and proof-of-reserves requirements.
Tokenization also accelerated: Securitize launched blockchain-based versions of Apple, Nvidia and Microsoft shares on Solana.

**5. Fed, Inflation & Treasury Yields**
Fed minutes showed policymakers divided over further tightening, but another rate increase this year remains possible. Inflation expectations also moved higher: the New York Fed’s one-year expectation rose to 3.9%, while University of Michigan one-year expectations reached 4.7%.
Consumer sentiment fell to 46.3, reflecting pressure from energy prices and living costs. However, Treasury auctions showed solid demand, with the $39B 10-year auction recording a 2.77 bid-to-cover ratio, helping the 10-year yield retreat from its roughly 5.36% peak.

**6. U.S. & Global Markets**
U.S. equities remained close to record levels, but market breadth stayed narrow as AI and semiconductor stocks continued driving much of the upside.
Global bond stress also increased. France’s 10-year yield reached its highest since 2002 and its spread over German bonds widened sharply. Meanwhile, the dollar index remained near an 18-month high around 102, creating another headwind for crypto, gold and other dollar-denominated assets.

**7. Gold & Silver**
Gold recovered from near $4,000 to around $4,190, finishing the week higher despite elevated yields and a strong dollar. Silver also rebounded toward $61. Geopolitical demand and easing Treasury yields supported precious metals, while persistent inflation and a hawkish Fed remained key risks.

**8. Oil, Middle East & Global Macro**
Brent remained above $100 as Middle East tensions kept a large geopolitical premium in energy markets. Houthi attacks hit Riyadh’s international airport, while additional drone attacks targeted commercial tankers around the Strait of Hormuz.
Brent nevertheless eased from almost $110 toward 104 as regional crude exports recovered. Oil remains one of the biggest cross-asset risks, another spike could push inflation and yields higher, while continued easing would be supportive for equities, gold and crypto.

**OI Analytics for the upcoming week: ETHUSD**

Heavy call writing is evident at the $3,100 strike, positioning it as a strong resistance level. The OI data shows a lack of significant put writing at lower strikes, while minor straddle writing is observed around $2.6K. A PCR of 0.25 indicates bearish sentiment for the coming week, with call writers firmly outweighing put writers.

Two strategies can show a similar return and still feel very different to run — drawdown, consistency, fees, and how the strategy actually trades matter just as much. Before you subscribe, spend a minute on the strategy page and read past the headline.
