- On 2nd May, the global crypto market cap was $3.26T, a 5.36% increase over the last day. The total crypto market volume over the last 24 hours is $201.67B, which makes a 72.16% increase. Bitcoin’s dominance is currently 62.8%, an increase of 0.19% over the day. (Source: Coinmarketcap)
- The U.S. Federal Reserve, left interest rates unchanged on Wednesday at a range between 4.25% and 4.50%. Bitcoin crossed $100,000 on Thursday morning, the first time it has touched the $100,000 level since Feb 4. The move marks a recent high after sinking to a local low of $76,320 on April 8, amid a mix of macroeconomic uncertainty largely driven by President Trump’s touch-and-go trade policy (Source: theblock.com)
- Coinbase has agreed to acquire Deribit in a record $2.9 billion deal for the crypto industry, according to the firms. The deal follows a months-long bidding contest with Kraken, which opted instead to buy NinjaTrader for $1.5 billion. (source: coindesk.com)
- Ethereum-based investment products see inflows for second consecutive week. Institutional investment vehicles tracking altcoins like Ethereum and blockchain equities saw inflows for the second consecutive week.Spot bitcoin ETFs saw $1.81 billion in net inflows last week, compared to $3.06 billion the previous week.
