CRYPTO NEWS

1. Crypto Markets & Liquidations
Bitcoin remained largely range-bound around $77K–$80K, briefly falling toward $77.6K before recovering. Glassnode reported BTC near $79.1K early in the week, with futures and options open interest rising even as spot momentum cooled, leaving the market vulnerable to volatility around the Fed meeting.

2. BTC & ETH ETF Flows
Bitcoin ETF demand weakened significantly through the week. Farside recorded BTC ETF outflows of $46.6M on Sep 8, $120.2M on Sep 9, $282.7M on Sep 10 and $13.2M on Sep 11. ETH flows were mixed, including a $24.3M outflow on Sep 8 followed by a $34.7M inflow on Sep 9.

3. On-Chain, Ethereum & Altcoins
Glassnode found capital inflows into Bitcoin were still improving despite softer spot activity, while futures leverage continued building. ETH stayed around the $2.5K region. Zcash was a major outperformer, with ZEC rising sharply after Grayscale’s Zcash ETF crossed $500M in assets.

4. Crypto Regulation
The CLARITY Act returned to focus ahead of a key Senate procedural vote scheduled for September 15. The bill aims to clarify whether digital assets fall under SEC or CFTC oversight, although banking groups and some lawmakers continue to oppose parts of the legislation.

5. U.S. Inflation, Fed & Treasury Yields
August PPI rose 0.4% MoM and 5.4% YoY, with energy prices driving much of the increase. CPI also rose 0.4% MoM, keeping inflation concerns elevated. Combined with oil above $100, markets now price roughly an 85–87% probability of a 25 bps Fed hike this week. The U.S. 10Y yield also briefly approached 5%.

6. U.S. & Global Markets
Wall Street faced a difficult week as higher oil, inflation and Treasury yields pressured valuations. The S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow declined through much of the week before rebounding more than 1% on Friday. Global markets also weakened as investors priced potential tightening from the Fed, ECB and Bank of Japan.

7. Gold & Silver
Precious metals were volatile as geopolitical demand competed with rising yields. Gold fell toward $4,321 by September 14 after a third consecutive weekly decline, while silver dropped toward $63.6. Higher Fed hike expectations and Treasury yields remain the main headwinds despite continued geopolitical uncertainty.

8. Oil, Iran & Global Macro
Oil became the week’s biggest macro driver. Brent surged above $107 as tanker attacks, disruption around the Strait of Hormuz and the shutdown of Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline intensified supply fears. The pipeline normally carries roughly 4–5 million barrels per day, making an extended outage a significant global supply risk.
Higher oil is now feeding directly into inflation expectations, bond yields and Fed pricing, creating a common headwind for BTC, gold and U.S. equities.

With the PCR at 0.59, the overall OI structure points to a bearish outlook for the coming week.
