CRYPTO NEWS
Markets remained volatile. BTC repeatedly defended the USD 80K–81K region and recovered toward USD 83K despite hot U.S. inflation, ETF outflows and heavy liquidations. Equities, particularly technology stocks, faced greater pressure from elevated oil prices, yields and AI valuation concerns.
1. Crypto Markets & Liquidations
BTC traded mostly between $80K and ç84K, while ETH fell toward USD 2.35K before recovering above $2.4K. Around USD 803M was liquidated on Oct. 13, with 86% coming from longs, followed by another near-USD 1B liquidation event later in the week.

2. BTC & ETH ETF Flows
Bitcoin ETFs recorded roughly $228M of net outflows from Oct. 12–16, while ETH ETFs lost about $320M. BTC nevertheless remained resilient around the $80K–81K support region.

3. On-Chain & Market Structure
BTC’s U.S. spot ETF cost basis near $81.5K remained an important support, while significant overhead supply sits above $88K. Long-term-holder realized losses have fallen roughly 85% from their August peak, suggesting reduced capitulation pressure.

4. Crypto Adoption
Standard Chartered launched direct BTC and ETH trading for eligible UAE clients. Thailand also introduced a framework allowing locally listed Bitcoin and Ether ETFs, expanding institutional access to crypto.

5. U.S. Inflation & Fed
September CPI rose 3.7% YoY, while PPI surged 6.3% YoY. Despite hotter inflation, markets largely expect the Fed to hold rates in October, while the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield eased toward 5.07%.

6. U.S. & Global Markets
Technology stocks led the sell-off, with the Nasdaq losing more than 4% for the week amid AI valuation concerns. European markets remained pressured by French fiscal risks, while China’s Q3 GDP grew 4.5%.

7. Gold & Silver
Gold finished the week around 0.7% lower before recovering toward $4,172 as Treasury yields and oil prices eased. Silver also declined around 0.7% for the week before rebounding toward $57.5.

8. Oil & Geopolitics
Brent briefly reached $110 per barrel as Strait of Hormuz disruptions intensified before easing toward $104–108 on prospects of additional Russian supply. Tanker attacks and shipping disruptions continue to keep the geopolitical risk premium elevated.

Heavy put writing is observed around the $75K level, while call writing is concentrated at the extreme $90K level. A PCR of 0.44 suggests bearish market sentiment for the upcoming week, with max pain positioned at $82K.
OI Analytics for the upcoming week: ETHUSD
Heavy call writing at the $3,100 strike highlights a strong resistance zone. Put writing remains limited at lower strikes, while minor straddle writing is observed around $2,400. With the PCR at 0.29, the options data signals a bearish outlook for the coming week, as call writers continue to dominate put writers.
